AUTOGRASS DPI Trial
The following trial conducted by the Western Australia Department of Agriculture is indicative of the benifit of barley sprouts, The trial raises questions regarding the benifits of this type of fodder as the weight gains of the cattle in the trial cannot be explained by conventional "Dry Mass" calculations, however the barley sprouts DID achieve the weight gains recorded of average 1.1 kilograms per day. The process of drying out the sprouts for protein and nutrient testing removes the moisture and a lot of the nutrients found in the fresh fodder which may account for the sciences not being able to explain the weight gain.
